New Robotlegs Workshop
*********************************
Update (13 jan 2011): due to the large amount of participants, I’m forced to stop accepting new participants . You can still post a message if you want to attend, but you’ll be placed on a waiting list. Some will probably cancel, making it possible for others to take their place.
*********************************
Recently I gave an introductory workshop to a bunch of Flash developers about Robotlegs. If you don’t know what Robotlegs is, here’s the description:
Robotlegs is a pure AS3 micro-architecture (framework) with a light footprint and limited scope. Simply put, Robotlegs is there to help you wire your objects together. It provides the glue that your application needs to easily function in a decoupled way. Through the use of automated metadata based dependency injection Robotlegs removes boilerplate code in an application. By promoting loose coupling and avoiding the use of Singletons and statics in the framework Robotlegs can help you write code that is highly testable.
The workshop went really well, since everyone decided to do their next project with Robotlegs. One of the attendees was even sending me email message in the middle of the night because he had immediately started extending his own navigational framework to support Robotlegs.
Anyway, due to a lot of requests, I’ve decided to organize another workshop which will be open to anyone that would like to attend. And above all, it’ll be free. So if you care about learning this lightweight kick-ass framework, please send me an email or reply to this post by posting a message.
Some final notes:
- Where: the course will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. A specific location will be decided on later on.
- How: bring you own laptop. I will be supplying code samples for FDT. If you don’t have it, you can get a 30 day trial here.
- When: I haven’t set a date yet, but we’ll fix a date when I have a complete list of participants. This way we can find a date that suits most.
